Abigail and Aaditya

Abigail & Aaditya

A love story that began in first year of University, took its own sweet time, and then the stars aligned. Turns out the long way round was always leading here. Come celebrate with us as we say yes to forever.

How we got here

The short version. The long version takes a filter coffee chat.

2019
Love at first sight

Met as first years at McMaster University (hence the McMaster theme), working on an Engineering project together — spoiler alert: Aadi thought Abbie was cute, Abbie thought Aadi was cute as well, however Abbie was so quiet that Aadi thought Abbie didn’t like him, and no one said anything…

2025
A custard tart

After years of not speaking — *gasp* — Aaditya slid into Abigail’s DMs about a custard tart she’d posted, opening with "Is this a custard tart?" (Fun fact: Aadi has the biggest sweet tooth.)

2026
And then, a yes

One question, one easy answer. Aadi proposed to Abigail in the very spot where they first crossed paths — where it all began, and where forever started.

The Wedding

And so our adventure begins — three celebrations across two weeks. Join us for the wedding

Evening of Saturday, 21 August 2027
The Roce

A Goan Catholic tradition held in the days before the wedding, where family and friends anoint the bride and groom with freshly pressed coconut milk as a blessing for the life ahead. There is singing, there is laughter, and there is a great deal of coconut milk. Tradition also allows for the occasional egg, so wear something you love a little less than usual.

Bride vs Groom Football Game

A friendly (mostly) showdown between Team Bride and Team Groom. Pick a side, lace up your trainers and join the game, or cheer loudly from the sidelines. Players and spectators are all welcome. Bragging rights are very much on the line.

The Second Day (Portonem)

The Goan second day, when the bride returns to her family home with her husband and both families come together again. An evening of food, music and dancing, and the perfect excuse to break out your Indian outfits — we would love to see everyone in them.

Paaligai Thellichal

A Tamil tradition where nine types of grain are sown in earthen pots days before the wedding, sprouting as a blessing of growth and abundance for the couple. In that same spirit, the couple will plant a sapling together — something to grow alongside them for years to come.

What to wear

Dress up, and
please avoid white

That's the only rule. Wear whatever makes you feel wonderful — colour very much encouraged.

Things you might be wondering

For the Mass, aim for 12:45 pm so you're seated before things begin. For the reception, doors open at 6:00 pm — the bridal party, bride and groom make their entrance at 7:00 pm, and you won't want to miss that.

Will we see you there?

One form per couple/family, and then the fun part begins. Let us know by 31 January 2027 so we can start counting down to seeing you on the dance floor.
